+====== METAR via DAPNET ======
+It is possible to send METAR messages via DAPNET on a regional level.
+These messages are distributed through **rubric ID 63**.
+The label for the corresponding rubric is **metar-[country]-[region]**.
+If you do **NOT** have a Nec 21/a (‘Skyper’), you can still receive these messages by programming **RIC 1063** into your pager.
+METAR messages are only sent on a regional level to prevent an overflow of national or global messages.
+Since DAPNET messages are limited to **80 characters**, METAR messages longer than that are shortened to **77 characters**, followed by three dots `...` to indicate the original message is longer.
+This service is **not** set up for all countries and regions by default.
+If it is not yet configured for your region, you can open a ticket via [[https://support.hampager.de|support.hampager.de]] requesting it to be set up for your specific region.
+In your ticket, specify:
+  * Which airports the METAR messages should be sent from
+  * The **TX group** for your region
+Only provide airports located within your own region, province, county, etc.
