It is possible to send METAR messages via DAPNET on a regional level. These messages are distributed through rubric ID 63. The label for the corresponding rubric is metar-[country]-[region].

If you do NOT have a Nec 21/a (‘Skyper’), you can still receive these messages by programming RIC 1063 into your pager.

METAR messages are only sent on a regional level to prevent an overflow of national or global messages. Since DAPNET messages are limited to 80 characters, METAR messages longer than that are shortened to 77 characters, followed by three dots `…` to indicate the original message is longer.

This service is not set up for all countries and regions by default. If it is not yet configured for your region, you can open a ticket via support.hampager.de requesting it to be set up for your specific region.

In your ticket, specify:

• Which airports the METAR messages should be sent from
• The TX group for your region

Only provide airports located within your own region, province, county, etc.
