Connection problems solved

Starting on about 21.08.2018, there have been some serious issues with the DAPNET Server connection regarding the server address dapnet.afu.rwth-aachen.de / Port 43434. The reason was a self induced DDoS scenario caused by the MMDMV DAPNETGateway software. The version from July 2018 had no delay between failing connection attemps. So as DAPNET has now spread over the world, there have been a lot DAPNETGateway installations that have not been configured properly by the…

Coverage Maps rendering status

In the last month, DAPNET has grown all over the planet. When we designed the network, we didn't really think that this would happen one day. So besides of beeing quite happy about that fact, it also revealed the problem of generating DAPNET transmitter coverage maps for sites all over the world. The map data is predicted using state of the atr science published in this paper:

After local beta-testing in Germany, we are proud to announce that the ISS Announcement Service on RIC 1091 is ready to be rolled out internationally.

If you want to have it in your region, please provide us a ticket with the local transmitter-group (based on districts, counties or other regional divisions on your country) and the geo-coordinates (based on google maps for example), to have it added for your region.

Regionalized Rubrics In Austria

Now also Austria has regionalized local rubrics for OE1 to OE9 that are available on all transmitters within the transmitter-group OE-ALL. For Skyper-pagers those rubrics would be propagated via the rubric-lists on transmitters in the group OE-ALL and they could be subscribed via the menu of the skyper. For all other pagers, the corresponding RIC would be 101x where x is the same as OEx (for example: 1011 = OE1).
